Arvada Intermodal Transit Village Concept Plan

Arvada, CO

The Arvada Transit Village is an area of about 1/4 to 1/2 mile surrounding the planned Regional Transportation District (RTD) intermodal light rail stop and bus transfer facility in Olde Town Arvada.

The Plan identified the preferred location and provided conceptual designs for a Transit Plaza and Bus Transfer, and evaluated and made recommnedations for infill and redevelopment opportunities in the area that will support the revitalization of Arvada's historic district.

The Plan process included a two-day community Charrette wherethe preferred location for the light rail stop was identified and initial concepts for design and redevelopment options were concieved.

The outcome of the Charrette was a concept plan that included:

• approximately 750 new dwelling units;
• approximately 40,000 s.f. of new commercial space;
• a new intermodal Transit Plaza with associated uses, such as cafés and restaurants;
• a 320 to 450 car Community Parking Structure with ground floor mixed uses such as artists galleries and lofts;
• an RTD park-n-Ride Structure;
• a new Library in Olde Town; and
• Streetscape and Traffic Improvements in Olde Town.
