Concord BART Plaza and Streetscape

The Concord BART Streetscape Plan was the result of a successful collaboration between VMWP, the Concord Redevelopment Agency, BAR T, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). The project created pedestrian enhancements and streetscape improvements connecting Concord’s Downtown to the Concord BART station. Improvements included widened sidewalks with landscaped walks, custom designed information kiosks, new street trees, and improved pedestrian lighting. The streetscape and plaza improvements are part of an urban design framework as a catalyst for future transit-oriented joint development surrounding the plaza and station area.
