The Focus Area plan for the Fremont CBD developed detailed land use alternatives and building typologies. The plan will transform vacant and underutilized parcels into a pedestrian-oriented downtown environment, with new streets to break down the scale of the suburban superblocks, ground floor retail uses, and a new Civic Center design with a public plaza. The plan calls for over 600,000 square feet of office space, 300,000 square feet of retail, 350 housing units, and a new hotel.
