Imperial Courts Master Plan
Los Angeles, CA

The Imperial Courts Master Plan is a comprehensive transformation of the buildings, yards, parks and streets of an existingl 31 acre, 498 unit housing project from the 1950’s. The new street lay-out has a hierarchy of wider tree-lined streets and smaller neighborhood lanes. The buildings have a defined front door/back door orientation. Each unit has its own parking space with direct access from the public sidewalk and an individual back yard. The new Imperial Courts community offers a wide variety of opportunities for interaction among neighbors while providing clear boundaries between public and private space. Project incudes renovation and construction of new units.
