Mountain View Downtown Precise Plan Update

The Downtown Precise Plan Update will focus on “Long Term” work tasks identified in 1999 by the Downtown Committee, which include updating parts of the Precise Plan that were not updated previously, including Areas H, I, and J.

The first phase of the update – Issues Analysis & Alternatives – was completed in December 2002. During Phase One, the Joint Committee worked with VMWP and the Consultant Team to refine several "Concept Strategies" to a consensus option for further development and evaluation.

The Concept Strategies used a set of tools falling under the categories of Land Use & Urban Design, Parking, and Historic Preservation. Based on the criteria and tools of the Consensus Plan, the Consultant Team will develop detailed evaluations to understand the consequences that implementation can have on Downtown Mountain View.
