VMWP is developing a plan to redevelop the closed UC Laguna campus in the mid-Market area of San Francisco with a mix of housing, mixed-use retail, dental office and community uses.

Courthouse Square LandUse Concept Plan & Traffic Study, Santa Rosa, CA

VMWP is currently developing a concept plan for Santa Rosa’s downtown, focusing around the potential reunification of Courthouse Square. The major goals of this study are to develop alternatives that look at the Courthouse Square Area, elicit and address public sentiment for Downtown’s future and specifically for the future of the Courthouse Square Area; to identify and evaluate the costs and benefits of proposed changes in the area; and to carefully address traffic and transit alternatives and impacts.

Mountain View Downtown Precise Plan Update, Mountain View, CA

The 2002 Downtown Precise Plan Update will focus on updating the plan for the most central areas of Downtown Mountain View. During Phase One, a joint committee comprised of downtown representatives and planning commissioners worked with VMWP and the Consultant Team to refine several "Concept Strategies" to a consensus option for further development and evaluation.

Ewa Smart Growth Design Code, Honolulu, HI

The Smart Growth Design Code grew out of the community’s dissatisfaction with conventional development on Oahu and an interest in smart growth community design. The initiative included a set of “smart growth audits” examining the local planning and zoning process and development review and approval processes, including evaluation of existing development regulations.
