It is a joyous day for the San José Citywide Design Standards and Guidelines team as the project has won the American Planning Association Northern California Chapter Award of Excellence for Urban Design.

The APA California Awards Program provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the great planning work occurring throughout California. This Awards Program Policy provides the general guidelines and procedures for the annual APA California Awards Program. All future Awards Programs shall be conducted in conformance with the policies and procedures outlined herein. Amendment of the APA California Awards Program Policy shall be made by majority of the APA California Board of Directors.

The San José Citywide Design Standards and Guidelines was truly collaborative effort and would not have happened without the hard work and support of the City of San José’s Timothy Rood and Leila Hakimizadeh, the VMWP team including Rick Williams, Ruchira Gaur, and Preeti Srinivasan, and Urban Planning Partners’ Carla Violet and Lynette Dias.
