The junior designer will assist in all aspects of the work at VMWP including producing schematic presentations, construction documents and supporting construction observation activities. Office wide responsibilities include graphic production, presentations and marketing. Candidates must work well within a team and individually in an interactive studio environment.
Strong graphic skills and competency in the following software programs are encouraged: Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Excellent CAD/BIM production skills are required and ArchiCAD experience is a strong preference.
The junior designer positions requires an architectural degree, and 1-4 years of professional architectural experience. Salary is dependent on experience.
Junior Urban Designer
Van Meter Williams Pollack’s urban design work includes transit-oriented design; master planning and specific plans, design guidelines, and development prototyping. Each of our projects includes an active community process where we work together with citizens and local stakeholders in workshops, charrettes, and meetings to prioritize goals and create a future vision of their place.
The Junior Urban Designer will assist in all aspects of the urban design work at VMWP including graphic production, presentations, marketing and production of documents.Tasks may overlap with architecture department as needed. Strong graphic skills and competency in the following software programs are desired: Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and ArchiCAD. Sketch Up skills are must. Hand-drawing skills are a plus. Candidates must work well within a team and individually in an interactive studio environment. A master's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or Urban Design is preferred. Candidates with Landscape Architecture or Planning degrees should have an undergraduate degree Architecture and/or a working knowledge of architecture and multi-family housing.
