DESCRIPTION
Clara Gardens, located at 3555 El Camino Real in Santa Clara, will be a 120-unit rental community offering deeply affordable housing. The development includes the renovation of an existing two-story motel and the construction of a new seven-story building. As part of the Homekey emergency housing program, interim improvements were made to the motel to provide immediate shelter and supportive services for formerly homeless individuals.
Upon completion, Clara Gardens will feature 43 renovated units and 77 newly constructed apartments, offering a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes for low-income households. Twenty-five percent of the units will be reserved for formerly homeless individuals and families.
Situated along the commercial corridor of El Camino Real, the community will provide residents with convenient access to local and regional amenities. On-site features will include two multi-purpose community rooms, two exterior courtyards, and offices for property management and resident services.
