The LOMA | Minneapolis, MN

Sustainable Mixed-Use Housing for Seniors and their Families

Description

The LOMA is located in the Lyndale neighborhood of Minneapolis and includes 62 affordable housing units for low-income seniors. Culturally sensitive aging in place is supported through three-bedroom units for seniors and their families. Some units are also reserved for individuals experiencing homelessness, with support services in place. Spacious amenities are designed to promote health and build intergenerational community, from fitness to yoga rooms to a children’s play area and a community room. All units are universally designed, while balconies promote views and a connection to the outdoors. The project is deeply sustainable, for building performance to material selection. The project will implement the Enterprise Green Communities Intended Methods as well as the Minnesota SB 2030 guidelines. The site is well connected to transit, includes bicycle parking and dedicated EV charging spaces. An active ground floor frontage includes a restaurant and commercial space.
